(Actually, I’d rather give it 3.5 stars, but it’s closer to 4 than 3.) After “Peek Hard”, I was really prepared not to like “Wrongfully Accused”. It has received flak enough in the papers, and I actually understanding Leslie Nielsen had been playing this kind of allotment for too long and that there was nothing he could do that I hadn’t seen before. Boy, was I ghastly. He’s honest been warming up. Though not as comical as the first Naked Gun film (The film against which I now measure all comedies), it’s diagram better than “Stare Hard”. I laughed sincere hard at some exiguous touches like the bouncing prisoner transport bus (it’s not colorful humour, okay, but it looked – and sounded – so comical, I had to laugh in spite of myself!), and the scene where Nielsen was chased by the derailed pronounce from hell (The scene where the state “peeped” out from its “hiding dwelling” – you gotta contemplate it to understand it – was almost horrific enough for a alarm movie!) . And Richard Crenna was simply fabulous in his Tommy Lee Jones parody. But no-one has better delivery than Nielsen. No-one but him could say lines like “You’re lying like a banana! -They advance in tremendous yellow bunches!” and the “Now all I have is a one-way brand to Palookaville!” speech and obtain them sound believable. But, as with all his comedies, you probably have to like this particular genre to really like it. I do, and I did.
If you haven’t watched this outragously humorous movie, recognize it because its a guarantee that it will sustain you laughing till you gut busts, titanic spoof from distinguished movies and a really comical myth to go with it, this movie has earned it’s plot as the greatest slapstick movie of all time, i recommend with this that you view another classic slapstick comedy, ‘Airplane’. 10/10.
