This was one of the more gripping “English dubbed” anime series that I watched when I was a kid (early 90′s in the Philippines), along with Robotech. I was surprised to behold that the indicate was originally produced and aired in the 1970′s and yet was interesting enough for my generation. Like most anime, it never flinched when it came to violence and portrayals of human frailty. Sadly the thing that made it so piquant for me was not seen by many American kids who grew up watching its toned down “Americanized Version”. This DVD restores the modern glory of the series without the dumbing attain of the shortened version (Battle of the Planets) . First the heroes in the uncut series protect the Earth and not the Galaxy. Second the names sound better (Galactor instead of Zoltar) . Third the droll robot from the Americanized Version does not exist. And lastly it focuses on the humanity of the heroes.
Man I remember watching this when I was 4. My current was Aggie she kicked ass man! I hope Rhino release more G-Force Episodes or hopefully a box site. I’m dying to look The Fatal Flowers again because the Battle Of The Planets version sucked, it didn’t exhibit no action when Princess was fighting the plants. Also Best Of G-Force focused on Ace. PLEASE RHINO RELEASE MORE G-FORCE!!
