This is a narrative of survival and romance, told very well. I had never seen it before, and it is a toothsome surprise.
I care for this movie and this account about real-life historical figures.
However, the quality of the video on this DVD is really bad. I have a 20 year former copy of this movie. which I taped from TV that is better quality than this DVD. A kid copying the movie to DVD at home in their garage would have done a better job.
The incompatibility is very shaded. The film is veteran and scratchy. This truly looks like an ragged 16mm projector movie reel (like the films they present in grade school) which has been played too many times… and then someone tried to transfer it to DVD. I would be really amazed if this was made by an genuine company rather than a one person business, working out of their home amd transfering this from some dilapidated film reel they salvaged like the ones the Navy aged to trade between ships. This film was customary enough, shaded enough and scratchy enough to have been shown and abused for many years in this type of scenario.
It is a shame because I really like this movie and bought the DVD because I wanted a well-kept professional copy. This was not it.
