I have to admit, I’m a glowing astronomical Utena fan. Impartial ask anyone who knows me. But the episodes contained on this disc are some of the best of the series. Some people complain about the drawn-out nature of the series, dueling people over and over again, and yes, it’s apt that you could probably skip the entire second arc and quiet be able to obtain up with what’s going on.
However, the three episodes on Utena: Revelations are fine in themselves, a savory recognize on the motivations of Utena (whether she fully remembers them or not) and the origins of Anthy and Slay of the World, complete with images both disturbing and fantastic that provide petite glimpses into the souls of the most mysterious characters of the series, as well as provide a few savory limited twists.
A highlight not to miss is getting to watch the Kashira Players out of the shadows, even if it’s only the backs of their heads, and a lot of what almost seems to be “fan service” with the terrible boys Akio, Touga and Saionji.
