Can anybody recommend a good book about 20th century Art? (Uni preparation)?

Hi – I’m starting Uni in September to do Art. Can anybody suggest a good History of twentieth century art .
I’m going to go to library – but I’d like to buy a book as well , as a constant reference.

Any suggestions really appreciated.

Agree with contributor above – Shock of the New by Robert Hughes – also other books he’s written – for these check Wikepedia link below.

There is also a good Channel Four Book – (gotta go off and research this) -
