Don’t listen to any claims made made for Bullet For A General, Django is without a doubt the best non-Leone spaghetti Western of all time. The opening scene (blue-clad Nero carrying a saddle over his shoulder and dragging a coffin through the gooiest mud in film history) is handsome. Corbucci’s direction is more controlled here than anywhere else–less zooms, less jarring close-ups, and neater editing. And Django has to be one of the first action heroes to fire a heavy machine gun from the hip (without even pulling the trigger, no less!) .

But accomplish no mistake. This is Italian exploitation–love it or loathe it. An ear is slit off, prostitutes fight in the mud, and our hero’s hands are crushed in gory detail that would produce One-Eyed Jacks affirm in disgust. Don’t request John Ford here. But if you’re looking for something different, are racy about spaghetti Westerns but tremulous to assume any because so many are horrible–then this is the movie for you!

I believe most people who don’t care great for this movie had been substandard by Leone before watching it. I mean, Leone really location the bar high for westerns and I don’t mediate anyone has done it as top-notch since. He dazzling noteworthy reinvented the western and region the rules. Italian directors who followed in his wake were directors who usually did other kinds of films, but started doing westerns coz they were colossal bucks at the box office. Django was the first of the non-Leone spaghetti westerns, and it’s a broad movie. Positive, the budget shows and the acting isn’t always the best, but I’m able to gaze past that. The see of the film is unique-Instead of the blazing hot deserts, most of this film is cloudy and muddy(I know it was shot in winter and I reflect it takes location in winter as well), giving it it’s enjoy notice. Franco Nero is no Eastwood or Bronson, but he has the proper stuff for the piece and pulls it off nicely. Very violent for 1966, but we’ve become so desensitized over the years that it won’t have you gasping in shock. It’s calm brutal enough though. Lots of complaints about the soundtrack again. Well, once again this isn’t Leone, therefore the sage music isn’t here either. But I don’t explore how you can hear the theme song and not laugh. You can honest contemplate Tom Jones singing this to a crowd of screaming women in Vegas. Once again Blue Underground has given another forgotten film the best possible treatment it can have. They give us an interview with Franco Nero and a very gripping short film with Nero as well. And as always, Blue Underground gives us the fresh poster as the screen(I appreciate how they do that with these stale flicks!) . If you have any interest at all in westerns and have seen the Dollars trilogy too many times, you can’t go imperfect with Django-that is if you lower your expectations a tad.

Witch Hunter Robin is a 26 episode Japanese animation series site in the come future in Japan. In this approach future, individuals dubbed Witches who reveal uncontrolled or psychotic manifestations of supernatural penomena are tracked and hunted by a dusky international agency. The title character, a smooth teenage girl raised in a European convent who posesses the ability to mentally inaugurate fires, works as a hunter for the Japanese branch of this agency (in the STN-J) . Some of the people she works with are up-front about their personal histories; others finish secretive. The first half of the series focuses on Robin working within the STN-J to hunt other Witches. Events halfway through the series lead to her becoming a fugitive; the storyline then delves deeper into several subplots concerning Robin’s origins, the personal backgrounds of some of the secretive STN-J members, and the activities of the STN-J administrator.

This series is carried by its rich character development and its strong dramatic moments (which are neither forced nor overplayed) . The characters, even those who appear in single episodes, are defined deeply in a contrivance that makes the watcher care about them. The storyline slowly (but not too slowly) unfolds within single episodes and across the series as a whole. An air of tension or mystery often permeates the spot. Remarkably, this is all done with relatively itsy-bitsy action (many action scenes merely feature people staring at each other while they duel with psychic powers) and with remarkably minute nudity. This is a strong dramatic series that holds the viewer at the edge of his or her seat with plotline, not with cheap thrills.

The animation style compliments the storyline very nicely. Everything is cast in dismal hues complimented with pale colors. Faces, clothing, and architecture are highly stylized; grand of it looks gothic or industrial. A strong emphasis is placed on visuals, particularly visuals of individual faces. While the individual characters and scenery are drawn technically well, the animators did have some problems. Some scenes feature computer-drawn backdrops that scrutinize artificial, and cars for some reason are not drawn well when interesting along the line of study. Despite these drawbacks, though, the animation aloof looks vast.

The series only has two problems. The minor jam is the soundtrack, which is somewhat lackluster. The major quandary is the predictability of the storyline. In earlier episodes, when Robin is hunting other Witches, the writers leave diminutive mystery as to who will be hunted at the slay of the episode, even if it is supposed to be unknown. Often, the hunted Witch is the one character that Robin or someone else in the STN-J interacts with during the episode. The later episodes become less predictable, but a important allotment of the series’s finale is disappointingly easy to infer.

I did not belief all of the extras on the DVDs, but both the character/equipment overviews and particularly the cultural information were useful.

Overall, this is a very apt anime series with honorable drama and characterization as well as a visually-pleasing animation style, although the predictable storyline and lackluster soundtrack inhibit it from being the best. I recommend it to any anime, sci-fi, or fantasy fan.

I’m more of the shojo fan. Series like Fushigi Yugi and Ceres Celestial Chronicle have made it into my anime library. I have recently gotten into the shounen anime such as Inuyasha, Samurai Champloo, and Elephantine Metal Alchemist. And I’ll be unbiased, I worthy seize the more boy-oriented anime where romance is second to the series and the tale itself is the whole jist of the present.

This is what appealed to me for Witch Hunter Robin. Although more shounen then shojo, Witch Hunter Robin is a mixture of action, mystery, and suspense with a breeze of romance. I enjoyed all the characters and was even surprised by the microscopic twists and turns that pop out in later episodes. But what I worship most about this series is that Robin is not a WHINEY, GIRLY, BRATTY 15 year worn who always has to Point To HER UNDERWEAR. She’s in fact a aged young woman who is patient, and if not monotone, kind, and accepts responsibility.

This series has a Harry Potter meets the Matrix type blend. The witch hunting may bother a few (particulary Wiccans) but the overall message of the anime is definite. As Amon puts it “God never forsakes his creations”.

Although not as reliable as the current Polie movie, Baby Bot Bolt carries over the helpful neat fun. My daughter does not earn to search for distinguished television or movies because most are so outrageous. However, the Polies are fun, upbeat, determined, overcome challenges with spot solving, they work together with family and friends, and there is no violence or shouting. I don’t mind that my puny one is ‘addicted’ to the Polie family movies!

Also, we bought the VHS version this time, but wish we’d gone with the DVD. The DVD does a grand better job of displaying the incredible graphics in the film.

My two year worn is a colossal fan of Rolie Polie Olie and I must say that this movie was a lot better then The Spacious Defender of Fun movie. This is a more up beat, elated movie with some very cute songs and a very cute chronicle line. It’s a very retro modern age design in cartoons with its’ gleaming colors and astonishing characters! This is a very interesting indicate. The only thing unpleasant I have to say is that these cartoons are usually around ten to fifteen minutes in length and this is a lot longer for a child to sit through and may rep bored. But for the older kids it would be blooming.

Based on the renowned Traver fresh, ANATOMY OF A Destroy is an extremely complex film that defeats easy definition. If you request a courtroom thriller with sudden revelations and twists you’ll likely be disappointed in ANATOMY OF A Destroy, but if you want a thought-provoking choose on the law you’d be hard pressed to glean one better. This and Laura (1944) are two of his films that go beyond the merely commercial and do something that can be called art. Seeing this for the first time forty-three years after it was released I was struck by the glowing acting all around and the sturdy, well-constructed direction. James Stewart’s performance as the Michigan north country lawyer Paul Biegler might shine even more luminously than it does except for a distinct performance by Gregory Peck three years later as a southern country lawyer in the unforgettable To Destroy a Mockingbird (1962) . Lee Remick, in a frank, but contemptible imitation of Marilyn Monroe, co-stars as Laura Manion, the wife of army Lt. Frederick Manion (Gazzara) whom Bielger is defending on a execute charge. The defense is temporary insanity because the man he shot raped his wife. Bielger slyly gains sympathy for his client by deliberately allowing it to arrive out that Laura is sexy and flirtatious enough to drive any man crazy. I’ve seen many courtroom dramas, some steady, some fictional, since this film first appeared, but I have to say it stands up well. The action (for the most allotment) feels realistic and the tension is nicely created and maintained. The resolution is satisfying and the ending is as sly and subtle as any country lawyer might want. Incidentally, if this movie had more total votes cast at IMDb, it would faulty in the top one hundred of all time, which is where it belongs.

See this for James Stewart whose easy, adroit style under Preminger’s direction found stout range. Although he gave many dazzling performances, I don’t assume Stewart was ever better than he was here.

I impartial bought this title (again) and it’s really the arrangement to go if you are into SAC. There is however a flaw with the situation that has continued from the initial release of the runt edition disks. Specifiacally disk two. The petite edition releases came with two disks, a ancient disk and one coded for DTS. Volume two’s disks were the only disks in the series that were silk screened in reverse so that the DTS disk was labled as if it were the standard version. This jam continues in this site. What this means is that a musty DVD player will not give you any volume from the disk and you can convey on the main menu because it will read DTS disk in the fair corner of the menu. Maybe Bandai will concede to replacing the erronious disk with one that will play on standard players but, I haven’t gotten that far yet. That’s the ONLY reason I can’t give it a 5 star rating.

When I first saw Ghost In The Shell movie serve on 1996 on HBO. (Yes, HBO), I instantly fell in cherish with the storyline and tha animation (the animation for God’s sake), never had seen such spacious animation for that time. Well, following the item above, I reflect the series are well done, this first season is filled with some heavy philosophical script (as all GITS universe is) and the residence in my thought is very challenging it self. The sound is avalaible in both english and japanese audio in dolby 5.1 or 2.0, you resolve. In this residence you catch a well variaty of extras that includes some interviews with the director and production staff as well as the seiyus from the japanese audio. Also you magnificent the wierd but comical Tachikomatic Days shorts, where these minute fellas try to understand the meaning of self thinking and morality and other stuff.

For anyone who simply wants to know if this is the recent theatrical version, like myself–it’s not. It’s the same as the 10th Anniversary Edition, with the stuff from the cutting room floor thrown help into the movie, instead of in Bonus Features where it belongs. I’m so thankful I unexcited have the oringinal release that I savor on video.

This review refers to the Special 10th Anniversary DVD Edition(Touchstone) of “Glorious Woman”…

There are a couple of reasons why you may want to go with this “Special” edition of this charming and very unusual update of the classic “Cinderella” legend. The first is that at this time, the unique edition seems to be unavailable, except from the outside sellers with prices higher then this one. The second reason is the astounding music video with Natalie Cole doing one of the best songs from the film, “Wild Women Do”. Other then that, I did not acquire anything really “special” about this “special” edition.

Here’s what you win…A “Leisurely the Scenes” featurette, which runs a couple of minutes and is honest some footage of Geer, Roberts and Marshall, getting ready to shoot a scene at the Polo game with the “Stunning Woman” music playing in the background. There is a very short production featurette, and except for Garry Marshall telling us what the film is about, appeared to be nothing noteworthy more than a long trailer. There is also the option of Director commentary, which may be viewed during the film, and the film is in widescreen, but both of these features are also available on the fresh release.

There is also some extra footage. An added scene where Vivian takes Edward succor to her stomping grounds so she can check on Kit, and the two are confronted by drug dealers hardly seemed principal. As a matter of fact it seemed to detract from the yarn, as it too soon takes the audience wait on out Vivian’s fairy myth world we have entered briefly.

As far as the film itself, I quiet adore it 15 years after it’s new release. Wonderfully directed by Garry Marshall, it’s a feel helpful film, and a incredible appreciate fable that makes you feel you can fulfill your dreams. A grand soundtrack, and the apt cast including Laura San Giacomo(she was a mountainous Kit), Jason Alexander, Hector Elizondo, Elinor Donahue, and story Ralph Bellamy, all gain this a very special film all on it’s maintain.

The DVD presents a very nice recount in widescreen, and grand sound in Dolby surround. There are nice captions in English for those needing them, but no other subtitles. The tag is actually pleasing decent for a “special” edition, honest don’t retract it expecting a ton of extra goodies.

This series is a very mixed bag. If you can handle the over the top vulgarity, obscenity, and gore there is actually a top-notch myth lying beneath it all. The legend is both the best and worst fragment. Peruse, it’s a large fable, but the anime ruins it. The last disc is comprised entirely (achieve for the first episode on it) of non-manga made up account. It gives a very sloppy and absolutely ridiculous ending, and never ties a single thing up. This is a shapely series, it looks stout, and is fun to perceive, but it will leave you running for the manga.

The case itself is fairly nice. The top of the ball pops off to have this tiny fold out holder for the discs. No complaints here.

In closing, this is a fun anime if you don’t mind some very extreme moments. If you like the memoir I recommend the manga so you can gawk what actually happens.

Gantz is in imo the one the most realistic films/shows ever.It’s disturbingly acccurate in the intention it portrays humans and the plan they react in situations. Reminds me of the film the Mist,where the protagonists are battling aliens yet the genuine monsters seem to be the humans.Yes there are aliens(you will be surprised at the aliens) and very deep social morals in every episode.It has gore,profanity,and nudity too.But if you are feeble and you like women,that shouldnt bother you or distract from the point of the series. Its a series in which the main characters have very steady personalities and they grow as the series goes along because they have to develop some strong decisions like taking lives to keep lives.I really felt like I knew the protagonists more and more as the series progressed.Its too complex of a dwelling to record more and I feel like that could cheat the viewer.Gantz is really objective pure genius and might be the best anime ever.Its two seasons( 3rd season one day? ), 26 episodes in an ultra wintry dark sphere(yes the dvds are expedient from getting scratched),the english dubbing is the best Ive ever heard,vast animation.This present will cease on your mind for distinct whether you like it or not and may even perform you value life more.Well worth your time and money.

Episode 11: “The Fighter” – McLeod meets up with his customary friend, Immortal boxing manager/fighter Tommy Sullivan. When Tommy’s rivals originate turning up humdrum Mac soon realizes his worn friend is no longer the man he once knew.

Episode 12: “Under Color of Authority” – Against McLeod’s advice Richie protects a woman on the hurry from an Immortal bounty hounter.

Disc 5:

Episode 13: “Bless The Child” – While camping in the mountains, McLeod and Charlie encourage an Indian woman fleeing with a baby from a group of men.

Episode 14: “Unholy Alliance, Share I” – Xavier St. Cloud returns along with a group of mercenaries (led by Horton) who relieve him in killing other Immortals. Their next target – Duncan McLeod.

Episode 15: “Unholy Alliance, Allotment II” – McLeod tracks Xavier help to Paris for a final showdown.

Episode 16: “The Vampire” – McLeod takes on Nicholas Ward, an Immortal who once posed as a Vampire.

Episode 19 – “Legacy” – McLeod and Amanda avenge the death of her teacher Rebecca Horne and collect the mysterious stones she protected.

Episode 20 – “Prodigal Son” – Richie Ryan returns to McLeod for support after being pursued by an Immortal who refuses to face him.

Episode 21 – “Spurious, Share I” – Horton unleashes his master state to raze McLeod once and for all. McLeod is wary of a motorcyclist who saves Richie from Horton’s Hunters.

Episode 22 – “Fallacious, Piece II” – McLeod meets Lisa Millon, a woman who is a tiresome ringer for Tessa. Is it too top-notch to be correct?

The “Watcher” notes give more insight into “Highlander” canon with reference to events and characters. In addition, several episodes also include deleted scenes/blooper footage.

THE VERDICT

Lovers of action-adventure and romance are tear to plunge in care for with this series. The “historical” flashbacks to earlier time periods in the Immortal’s lives are awe-inspiring. The martial arts and swashbuckling action will fix most people’s action cravings and the countless romantic “esteem scenes” featured in the series will reel in the ladies too. If you’ve never been exposed to world of Highlander before check this series out and notice what Highlander fans have known for years, “In The Raze, There Can Be Only One” — and this series is it!!

Highest Recommendation

Season Two marks a turning point in the Highlander series, when the writers finally rupture out of the territory established in the current Highlander movie and introduce original ideas. The Watchers are introduced, a secret society of people who have been watching and recording the Immortal’s deeds for centuries. While I can’t relieve but wonder if this belief was liberally borrowed from Anne Rice’s books, the Watchers swiftly became my celebrated aspect of the note, especially the tentative and growing friendship between Duncan McLeod and his watcher, ultra-cool guy Joe Dawson. It really adds depth to Duncan’s character to notice him interact with someone not in “the biz” from whom he has nothing to mask. In fact, Dawson may know McLeod better than anyone ever has, including Duncan himself. The abrupt death of Tessa during Season 2 may be upsetting to some fans, but her presence in McLeod’s life stagnated the character, and now he is free to go out in current and engrossing directions.

My approved edition of Saturday Morning Cartoons for definite. So, if you don’t have Boomerang, or had enough of watching monstrous quality internet movies -this is GOLD. At this point though, I’d like to survey a honorable release with all the episodes of say Shazzan! Grape Ape and Hair Possess Bunch. If there was no market, they wouldn’t place it in Cartoon Network programming. Shazzan! is the least seen of all these classics, so what’s the point of holding them relieve to dvd or even download only? The plus is they picked strong episodes here.

Nonetheless, how can this compilation not rep five stars? Arrested development accomplished! What would accomplish this better (not that I absorb this against anyone) is adding a couple timepiece commercials between the breaks…I’m thinking Joyful Meal and abominable teeth plunge out of your mouth cereal commercials. I impartial purchased the second volume from the Saturday Morning Cartoons 70′s collection. Let me unprejudiced say that I am quite ecstatic with this collection. I watched many of these cartoons during the 70′s and it brings befriend many elated memories from childhood. The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Point To and the Banana Splits were the notable reasons of my steal. The bridging sequences including the introduction to both Bugs Bunny/Road Runner and Banana Splits were not restored. However, I can’t complain too powerful. I am unable to find the Cartoon Network Boomerang channel where I live and have been wanting to discover many of these cartoons for such a long time. I hope Warner Brothers continues to release more collections in the advance feature. More Bugs Bunny/Road Runner and Banana Splits please! Also, would like to perceive the Current Adventures of Huckleberry Finn with Michael Shea (Huck) and Lu Ann Haslam (Becky Thatcher) ; really campy but from share of the Banana Splits series. Thanks again Amazon!

For me a 3-star ratng is an impartial rating and means it’s a decent attractive flick in a general contrivance, not something everyone has to have and perhaps a favorable bewitch for fans of the Dirty Pair, but otherwise unprejudiced a movie aimed at a large audience who likes watching movies in general. I have the new Dirty Angels: Girls With Guns (conventional but watchable) and Dirty Pair Flash: Angels at Worlds Ruin and these are all prime-time series anime specializing in a new-situation-each-episode themes. They aren’t astounding but not dreadful either.

In Random Angels (for example) Kei rescues a rich hier-to-a-fortune baby in snowy mountain terrain (and being female has a natural pacifier when it’s bottle runs dry), Yuri and Kei are targets of a teenage assassin who uses toys (Yuri’s top is popped when Kei grabs her to support her from falling in a swimming pool of acid – and their cutey-girl assassin transforms ala “Sailor Moon” into a cutey-vixen there is a hint of nipples), the girls present lots of slinky skin when they sing for a beach ball competition to nab a criminal, a criminal crooked on vengence wreaks havock with the 3WA building and they do their boss (robotic armor and chaos and dang-nab the paperwork), and the episode I haven’t watched has Kei falling for a guy who actually obsessed with her to the point of making a robot of her. (Saving it for later.)

The girls sometimes cause more destruction than they avert; fans who have never tried Hyper Dolls should give that a whirl, too. Since mayhem flashes to being when the girls collect going.

There is a shrimp amount of nudity (loyal R-rated nudity: you gather glimpses of both girls nipples once each, but only once), there is profanity and there is violence: but overall, this is aimed at a more weak young-adult evening audience, with diminutive humor and tame theme mainly concentrating on suspenseful action. It isn’t chocked stout of sex, nudity, blood gushing violence (although there is precise killing going on), etc., it’s objective another sci-fi anime of trouble-shooters for a quasi-police organization. For example, the assassin girl drives a mono-bike (a upright monbike where the rider sits in the center and the wheel runs around them) and has robotic dive-bombing birds, and yet retreats to a castle to retract the girls. Extinct and original mix. I’d rate it PG-13 or such mainly because it is not a reveal for pre-schoolers. (Less your pre-schoolers are serene outmoded) .

Technically, while a casual fan I acquire the voices of the girls a tiny annoying; maybe the sound quality isn’t that substantial, but they sound like they suffer a severe case of smokers-throat. And thus, I like the shows but I’m not blind to their faults. Overall, the art is elegant decent but not fair.

Extras include the general location of scene selection, character BIOs, trailers, and things I never bother with because in the raze they objective never add any value to the DVD for me. I ogle movies for the movie, not extras (Oh wow, stills from the movie! Gee, what astonishing extras! Blah!) .

When I am bored of cutey movies and too-solemn blood gushers and funny laugh-aholic flicks, I pop the girls in for a change of creep, having as I do a wide selection of DVDs of varying tastes for varying moods.

I have recently seen every Flash episode on Showtime Beyond and to save it simply, most all of the episodes revolve around the same themes. Kei and Yuri obtain themselves in a scrape time after time again, whether it be in their search for the unpleasant Flair or Yuri’s endless search for the lawful guy. For those who know nothing of this series yet are eyeballing it as a possible pick, I have but a few things to say. First and foremost the name Dirty Pair is not a pun for endless sex scenes. Though there is nudity in some of the episodes in shower scenes, there is no sex whatsoever in any of the episodes. Secondly, this series has a few flaws with the dubbing which form it annoying at times and hard to have with, especially whenever something intense is happening. The anime mainly has a light-hearted tone and is not meant to be taken very seriously. Also, the animation is a bit old and some of the effects (i.e. explosions, gunshots, etc.) aren’t that admirable. But if you can sight past that Dirty Pair will not leave you disappointed. For those looking for hentai with loads of watch candy, this isn’t for you. However, if you’re looking for a comedy with action and an captivating storyline, the endless antics and bloopers of Kei and Yuri will undoubtedly preserve you keen from launch to execute.
