I idea that this DVD was very well done. The animation is different from the typical Franklin chronicle, even his other full-length stories. The characters are “more tantalizing”, for lack of a better description. For example, instead of the usual stone-faced Beget character, he makes comic faces. The music is also different-not annoying like the other full-length stories. Franklin and Harriet are not whiney, nefarious, and annoying like they usually are.

The jam lies in the sage itself. Granny is dying of some unknow ailment and it seems that Franklin must glean this magic talisman to establish her life. That’s quite a bit of pressure on a child, I would say. My daughter did not like that at all. We also pick up to hear Granny’s anecdote of hiding this talisman in a time capsule when she was a child, which is blooming until you glimpse the forest around her miniature pup tent erupt in flames, and gawk as it creeps closer to her family’s cabin where her parents are sleeping. She escapes to a row boat on the lake and watches and waits till the fire is gone. Then she sums up the sage by saying that “she lost everything in that fire”, and then went to live with some other family member. It’s a dazzling unsightly method to form the time capsule a challenge to win for Franklin! I wonder what the authors were thinking when they wrote this legend line. I understanding that killing off parents was impartial a current Walt Disney draw. My daughter does not want to see this again, it upset her so worthy. And even though it is a very well-done cartoon, I can’t say that Franklin is one of my favorites, so it’s not likely that anybody else will be watching it again either.

My 5 year worn son unbiased loves Franklin. He really loved this movie. Since this is a movie, the format is slightly different than the series, but he level-headed loved it. Spacious movie and my son is so tickled!

The veil looks nice BUT Should say A RANKIN/BASS Classic at the top BUT CLASSIC MEDIA and SONY WONDER continue to package the RANKIN/BASS catalog in a very generic scheme (NOT obvious why, it only hurts sales) . Anyway, this was originally a 1967 TV Special, which features a very nice LIVE introduction and closing by DANNY THOMAS. Not one of the better Cel Provocative RANKIN/BASS specials BUT not poor either. The soundtrack is delicious and it is Stout to hear MARLO THOMAS work with her dad. For this trace, I definitely recommend it to any RANKIN/BASS fan!

Like most people I’d never seen this special (though being a Rankin & Bass fan I knew of it) and as it was included in the collection I was finally able to ogle it. I have to say though, that it’s not difficult to understand why it has rarely been seen since it’s release. Unlike the rest of the Rankin & Bass specials, this one somehow looks dated and doesn’t quite have the charm of the rest of their efforts. I don’t contemplate the character produce was the best they’d ever done either. It was edifying up to a point and had some fine music for the kids so I won’t give it a zero but I didn’t acquire it all that sharp and what happened next totally turned me off to it forever.

About halfway through, there is a scene (which I can’t understand why it wasn’t lop or wasn’t changed in some intention) that I was very, very disappointed to peep. At one point the cricket is kidnapped by the typical bad-guy henchman and delivered to a sea captain and when they ask to be paid the sea captain says “I have your payment fair here’ and pulls out a gun and murders them!!! Bang! Bang! Bang! Are you kidding me??? I couldn’t have what I was seeing!!! They don’t actually present it but you examine a long shot of the boat and the flashes from the gun muzzle. Amazing.

I can’t assert you how miserable it is on Christmas Eve trying to account for what honest happened to your two young children who were expecting to examine a nice Christmas video with their parents. If you like that sort of thing then give it a gaze but we won’t be watching ‘The Cricket On The Hearth’ in our house anytime soon.

I really don’t want to say anything to spoil this movie, it’s a ample movie though. The area follows a detective as he tries to unravel a serial killer’s wake of murders. When the reality of what was happening began setting in, the truth slow secret military genetic experiments, know as Project Lucas, are slowly revieled. This movie is a substantial Scifi Movie and though it is complelty different than American Scifi such as the Matrix, it would probaly be unbiased as humorous to any fan of profitable SciFi. Over all “Yesterday” is a petite violent, but the ideas and concepts within the space are nothing less than clasic Science Fiction.

It’s rare to derive a valid sci-fi movie from Korea, so I really tried to maintain an initiate mind. However, I must admit to being disappointed. The premise is curious. It’s reunified Korea and a string of murders are happening with the victims being once-prominent government-employed scientists. The narrative deals with cloning and genetic experiementation and could have been a tightly-crafted futuristic thriller in the vein of ‘The Minority Report’. Also, the inherent cultural struggles of a newly reunited country that developed differently for over 50 years. However, the wooden acting from the cast (it’s worse if you gape in recent Korean) and the lack of direction sink the movie. The action scenes are adequate, but otherwise a disappointment.

1. Camouflage Art — Very nice characterize of Arthur and D.W., although the coloring is a small unlit. The pictures throughout the DVD box and DVD menus are also resplendent nice.

2. Fable Selection — I wouldn’t say these stories are among the best of the “Arthur” series, but they’re not too abominable. In “D.W.’s Time Anxiety,” D.W. and Nadine go assist in time to look what it would be like if D.W. were the older sibling. Some very humorous stuff here with the “baby store” and some touching moments with Arthur and D.W. Next, there’s “To Tibble the Truth,” in which the Tibbles learn that telling the truth is great, but you shouldn’t be bluntly fair. This tale uses Alberto and Vicita, two original characters introduced in more unique seasons of the expose. Finally, “Waiting to Go” riffs off of the existential play “Waiting for Godot.” Very piquant dynamic of Binky and Brain, two very unalike characters. Some provocative discussion of relativity and other stuff that likely will go straight over the heads of most of the target audience.

3. Special Features — Hmm, mmm. It’s nice that “Arthur” DVDs now have special features, but most of this is unbiased stuff transplanted from the official website. There’s a read-along of “Arthur’s Family Feud” that I know I’ve seen on the situation before. I guess this fits in with the “getting along” theme. There are also parent tips from the place. Probably the best special feature is actually a cute note preview for “Connie the Cow.” There are also previews for a few shows that frail to be on the PBSKids “Bookworm Bunch.” This is also the first one of the first “Arthur” DVDs to feature continuous play. One other thing of designate is that the close-caption track has been removed and replaced by larger white subtitles without any blackground. I don’t mind this, since they’re easier to read and don’t have any accuracy problems.

Following their release of Artur Rubinstein’s Grieg, Chopin and Saint-Saëns concertos, Deutsche Grammophon issues another consuming programme about the astronomical pianist, recorded two years earlier, in August 1973, at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Rubinstein can be heard and seen in Beethoven’s 3rd and Brahms’s 1st, both accompanied by the Concertgebouw Orchestra under Bernard Haitink.

Produced by the same team, with Hugo Käch directing, the huge Max Wilcox who had been recording Rubinstein since 1959 as audio producer, and Robert Hofer responsible for the photography, this DVD provides further insight in the artistry of one of the most vital pianists of the previous century in the indian summer (“autumn” would be too strong a word for the 86-year dilapidated Rubinstein) of his career. Rubinstein at this point approached both concertos with an unforced, patrician distance, avoiding all excesses in sound and tempi, as if he wants to let the music swear for itself, at times almost turning it into chamber music. It’s an feeble master returning once more to these works he has played, loved and explored for decades. Yet there’s no tag of fatigue or errancy. Very few have been able to produce this music vow with such freshness, clarity of line and naturalness of declamation as Rubinstein did. The Largo and the Adagio sections boast a mesmerizing serenity and almost nocturnal quality. Eventually, the simplicity of his music-making, the humanity reflecting Rubinstein’s believe rich vision of life, have something profoundly touching.

Soundwise the “Artur Rubinstein in concert” DVD is preferable to the earlier release because of the warmer acoustics of the Concertgebouw hall which seem to suit Rubinstein’s lyrical and tall advance better. The playing of the Concertgebouw Orchestra under Bernard Haitink also boasts more character than the London Symphony under a neutral and often bland André Prévin. The rich and certain sonorities of the Dutch orchestra are a joy from open to extinguish.

Curiously, this DVD gives us the proper same bonus as the earlier release with the “Rubinstein at 90″ film, showing the pianist in conversation with Robert MacNeil at his Parisian home in 1977. Helpful as it is, there are plenty of other insightful documentaries of Rubinstein around which could have been offered as an extra.

Highly recommended.

When I first played this dvd, I was so disappointed with the muddy sound, I honest threw it in a drawer for a couple of weeks. It was hard to imagine that Max Wilcox, who engineered many amazing CDs had anything to do with it! I have a feeling that the huge acoustics of the Concertgebouw might be a exiguous too tall when there is no audience prove. But after some further tweaking (such as turning the bass down almost all the contrivance, and boosting highs) the sound is comely first-rate. And BTW, I’m not original to this – most other 70′s dvds on DG (like Karajan, Bernstein, Pollini) have powerful better sound.) But this dvd has such fantastic artists, who have few dvds available, it really is a generous acquisition (unbiased remember to adjust the sound!)

DEATH SENTENCE is a tough movie to peek, not because it is a poorly made film, but because of the degree of violence that, once started, is mayhem on a roller coaster scurry. Though based on a unique by Brian Garfield, the script by Ian Jeffers is a patchwork quilt – the holes expose whenever the police near on the scene. I usually agree with the mainstream critics about movies, for the most section. However, this movie, like the 1st Saw film, is a major exception. If you are looking for a best represent candidate, you will not earn it here. However, it is a very sharp, gripping movie that will probably not appeal to the squeamish. The movie fits correct into the Parent Revenge mold quite well. The oldest son is killed by gang. Dad avenges death. Gang fights succor. Dad goes crazy and kills gang members, before the whole thing culminates in a final shootout plump of graphic carnage. If you are looking for an insane action movie, this isn’t quite it. In particular, the first half is very deliberate in trying to shriek Bacon as a loyal guy, trying to avoid violence, but ultimately succumbing to it. I found this accelerate that he takes to be quite absorb, up until a scene reach the slay in a hospital in which he turns into Rambo. Rather than being intelligent, it is slightly silly. Then the movie turns into a straightforward, albeit very well shot, action flick tubby of gore and carnage. Many critics bashed the film for it’s hypocrisy in having the movie condemn violence while later depicting it in stylish, perversely intriguing detail. However, I assume this was justified by a gang leaders quote at approach the extinguish of the film. “Inspect at you,” he says to Bacon. “You’ve turned into one of us.” The man is factual. I esteem the film “Pollyanna” and have been waiting for the DVD for what seems like forever. I am very impressed by it! The describe and sound quality are improbable – so grand better than the copy I have taped off TV from the leisurely 80s. The film is presented in widescreen but I’ve realized not a lot goes on on the sides of the narrate in this particular movie; in other words, you really don’t salvage worthy more action with widescreen than you would have with the pan & scan video or a TV-taped version. However, this IS the film as the director intended it, and I believe that’s grand. This DVD (actually two DVDs!) contains so worthy vast stuff, I can’t even list it all here. Let’s objective say amazon.com’s list doesn’t even bag INTO what’s on this DVD. There are so many puny treasures, and something for everyone – Disney fanatics, Hayley Mills fans, movie freaks, and (naturally!) Pollyanna fans. My well-liked features so far are the featurette on Pollyanna advertising, the one about how they restored the picture/film to gain the colors how they should have been, and the one about Pollyanna merchandise. Plus, the audio commentary by Hayley Mills and the (now tedious) David Swift is insightful and engaging. I would also recommend the “Parent Trap” DVD for more of the same fun. The Disney co. really went all out for these DVDs and they are well worth the money. And if you’ve never seen the movie – it’s an adorable family flick that I’ve loved for nearly 14 years. I hope you like it, too!

I was a bit nervous seeing this movie as I was terrorized it was going to live up to it’s title and be map too sugary sweet. I was pleasnatly surprised and even moved afterwards.

Pollyanna is a savory movie that lifts the spirits and provides many life lessons without ever being preachy or feeling like a school lesson. I was genuinely entertained and even a bit surprised at the valorous steps the movie takes. Would you contemplate this movie features a preacher most everyone fears, or has a bittersweet ending? I opinion not. Well there’s plenty more here to surprise you. Impartial give it a chance.

About the only thing I fault the movie for is being a bit too long. Some scenes objective seem to go on and on, but that’s what chapter stops and the lickety-split forward button are for.

As for the DVD presentation, it’s terrific. The movie looks and sounds aesthetic plus the second disc is fair jammed packed with extra material. I was exasperated to listen to the commentary, but sadly it’s as sugary and tubby of spurious emotion as the movie is not. Peaceful the other bonuses are well worth the extra bucks and there will probably never be a better presentation of Pollyanna.

Yeah, I know any review I give is advantageous to be a bit skewed, but let me impartial say this.

When I saw that Spring Rupture was finally coming out on DVD 27 years after we made it, I understanding, “chilly!”

I don’t know about you, but one of my accepted things about DVDs are the bonus features. Audio commentaries, in particular.

Well, when Anchor Bay decided to release Spring Crash, they spared every expense, and consequently there are no bonus features. No Commentary. No deleted scenes.

I know. It blows, upright?

So I decided to remove matters into my possess hands.

I gathered a few of the novel cast members and we got together and actually recorded our have audio commentary.

It’s about time Spring Crash was released on DVD.Not only is this movie extremely comic, but it is also a big share of history of what it was like at Spring Fracture in Fort Lauderdale in the early 80′s.This movie was filmed on station in Fort Lauderdale at a bunch of the mammoth nightclubs that were on A1A.Most of the movie nightclub partying is filmed at the Candy Store which was probably the most notorious club on the A1A strip in the 70′s and 80′s.The drinking age was 18 in Florida at the time,so the college students were very young.It really was a sizable time to be a teenager in Florida.You have to care for the 80′s.Appreciate!

While I normally wouldn’t review IGPX DVDs outside of my website, I believe it is worth mentioning one titanic point that I occupy consumers need to know before going out to hold this region on this station. The 5.1 Surround sound does not work properly. Instead of providing expedient 5.1 channels of sound, it fronts all 5 channels to the front 3 channels, and then the relieve 2 channels barely output any sound. Bandai (the publisher/distributor) won’t fix it or replace it because it serene outputs some sound, so they can claim that it is a 5.1 mix, but anyone with a 5.1 setup can suppose it is not.

I am level-headed giving it 4 stars for a rating because that only affects about 1% of the consumers buying this position. That’s because the 2.0 mix works stunning. It is definitely something you should know before buying. It’s actually rather unfamiliar, as the Season 1 place and all other IGPX DVDs prior did not have this predicament. It’s a vast deal to me, because I am an audiophile. It’s not fair that-it’s fair I really wanted to hear these episodes in 5.1 sound. However, that deny doesn’t change the 2.0 Stereo mix, and that is awesome. The music and sound effects that were added/changed from the other volumes for the Toonami version that was aired on TV are all good. While some episodes suffer from a few seconds of reduce footage, the majority discontinue in tact, and provide superior sound experiences.

Also support in mind that there is no Japanese audio, but that’s what the other DVDs are for. This position also includes numerous extras, including audio commentary for some episodes, and promos. Overall, you will likely luxuriate in this situation if your a fan of the present, and don’t mind some cleave footage. Fair be warned that if you are that 1% who is buying this thinking you’ll hear just 5.1 surround sound, you won’t. I notion I could actually fetch into these sound mixes, but I was very disappointed. At least I can somewhat be pleased them, but it is really dim to listen to stereo quality sound (especially when the other DVDs are 5.1 quality) on a 5.1 system.

This season was shapely solid. There were definitely some unexpected twists and turns throughout. The only yell I had was that in the beginning of the season there was a lot of forced tension. No one really got along with anyone else on the team. This resolves in time and has a powerful anticipated climactic destroy.
